Hartley Newell-Acero, M.A., C.Ht.

Hartley Newell-Acero has been a practicing hypnotist since 2002. She is certified by the International Medical and Dental Hypnotherapy Association (IMDHA), with specializations in weight management and "Peaceful Birthing".

Other qualifications include:

  • B.S. in Psychology and an M.A. in Behavioral Science/Fitness and Human Performance from the University of Houston - Clear Lake. Her graduate coursework included classes in psychology, exercise physiology, and nutrition,
  • Cooper Institute for Aerobics Research: Training that includes LifeStyle Counselor certification in weight management, stress management, and smoking cessation; “Making Weight Loss Work” program training; fitness assessment training; as well as the Institute’s Program Director Specialist certification,
  • Quantum Focusing™ coach: Trained with Michael Ellner, DD, MSH, C.Ht.,
  • Former wellness educator for a hospital-based wellness facility,
  • Former psychology instructor for Austin Community College and Navarro College.
  • (On a personal note:) For the birth of her second child, she received no anesthesia. Instead, she used hypnosis!
